What's new in Version 2013.01

  • This release was available in two formats, one for use with CaseWare Working Papers 2012 and one for use with CaseWare Working Papers 2009, 2010, and 2011.
  • This release includes revisions relating to the November 2012 release of the CGA Canada Public Practice Manual (“CGA-PPM").

  • All templates 
    • Financial statements: 
      • The signature lines on the balance sheet have been revised to read “On behalf of the Board‛ for corporations and not-for-profit organizations or “On behalf of the Partners‛ for partnerships.
      • A new option has been added to the income statement. When selected, all details in the cost of sales section are reported in a new note, and only the total is reported on the income statement. The total reported in the note matches the single amount in the income statement.
      • File Profile (0.0P): In the Working Paper variances section, the variance linkage to BB.12 (Accounts payable) was corrected. 
      • Automobile benefits (RR.5 and RR.6): Calculations of GST/HST on automobile standby charges and on operating expense benefits have been revised.
      • GST/HST reasonableness (FF.16): Lines added to allow for entry of out-of-province sales at difference GST/HST rates.
      • Indicators of suspicious transactions (3C.363): Revised per Nov 2012 PPM 
    • Audit - CAS template 
      • Changes in policies & correction of prior periods checklist (for PEs) (ZZ.C565): Revised per Nov 2012 PPM
      • Differential reporting letter (P74): Removed from template, as it applied only to the Pre-changeover accounting standards
      • Engagement quality control reviewer's checklist (2.123W): Replaced by 2.123WX (new filename: 123.docx)
    • Review - ASPE and ASNPO templates:
      • Planning checklist (3A.A7 and 3A.N-A7): Revised per Nov 2012 PPM
      • Engagement quality control reviewer's checklist (2.123W): Replaced by 2.123WX (filename - 123.docx)
    • Review - pre-changeover GAAP template (previously discontinued): 
      • The Knowledge library for pre-changeover and legacy templates has now also been discontinued.
