What's new in Version 2009.01

• Version: 
  • This release was available in two formats, one for use with CaseWare Working Papers 2008 and one for use with previous versions of CaseWare Working Papers (2004, 2005, and 2006). Template features are identical in each file set, to the extent possible.
• Checklists: 
  • All the audit programs, disclosure checklists, review checklists, and compilation checklists are now current up to the December 2008 release of the CGA Canada Public Practice Manual. For details of these changes, please refer to the CGA Public Practice Manual. 
• Financial statements: 
  • Several notes to the financial statements were updated, modified or added, based on changes in GAAP.
  • The asset, "Deferred charges", and related amortization expenses and notes were eliminated, for consistency with recent changes in GAAP.
  • Intangible assets captions and notes were revised for consistency with recent changes in GAAP.
  • The statement of comprehensive income was added to the list of statements identified in the Review Engagement Report, Auditor's Report, and Notice to Reader. 
• Client letters: 
  • The engagement letters and representation letters were revised for changes in the November 2008 CGA Canada Public Practice Manual.
  • The statement of comprehensive income was added to the list of statements identified in the engagement letters.
• CaseWare documents, accounts, and Document Manager: 
  • Items relating to deferred charges were deleted.
  • Investment accounts were added for ease in reporting financial instrument categories. 
• Small audit program: 
  • For convenience, the optional Control Environment questionnaire in the CGA full audit program has been added to the SAP Template.
• CaseView Working Papers: 
  • Several minor updates were made in various working papers. 
• "Getting Started" file: 
  • Updated the installtion procedures.
• File Profile: 
  • Updated the version information.
